Farming

     Three quarters of the economically active population (about 40% of the populace) work in farming, forestry and fishing sectors. Sierra Leone produces rice, coffee, cocoa, palm oil, citrus fruits timber, and there are over 850,000 hectors of land for cultivation. 

      Sierra Leone boasts of up to 197 inches of rainfall a year, making it one of the wettest places along the West Africa coast. Sierra Leone land covers an area of 71740 square kilometer.
